Those of you running full wadcutters in your .45s, what seater die/plug are you using?

I just got off the phone with RCBS and they don't make them (can do so special order.)

I have both the old and new-style seater dies and they don't make them for either one.

I could grind the shoulders from an SWC, but I'm not real confident I could keep everything square.

I use the flat seater plug for loading 200 gr SWC in .45 ACP, this gives me very accurate cartage OAL.

You don't need a special plug for full wadcutters. What you're looking for is a plug with a flat ridge around the circumference that will contact the bullet evenly around the top. A semi wadcutter plug will do just fine and most round nose plugs have that flat ridge too.

Works great with current Dillon seating dies. Won't work with older dies.

you can fill a die head with JB weld or even hot glue- i've done this on the dillon 500 with great success

I just use the SWC stem in my RCBS die. It works perfectly with the Saeco #453.

Contact Huntington Die, I did just last month.
They are my first go to for any old RCBS parts

Fred has RN, SWC, and Wadcutter 45 caliber seating plugs for the old style 1/4 x 28 seating dies, as well as blank plugs.
They have a min order of $ 20, and each seating plug cost $ 10

I turned the head of a 16 penny nail into a WC seating stem in my RCBS LAM II. Works and cheap too.

made a flat plug from an old SWC plug. Turned it in my drill press with a file.
