Does anyone here cast the Lyman 452484? It is a 225gr RN gas check design. I recently acquired a replica Remington 1858 revolver and would like to try a "conical" bullet in it. The 452484 being designed for gas checks would have a rebated base which should a better chance of seating the bullet into the chamber in relative alignment. If you cast this particular bullet could you send me a half dozen or so.... that way I could find out if it would work before investing in the mold. e-mail "bebloomster@copper.net". Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know if this mold (lyman 452484) is good for 1911 type guns?

The 452-484 may be a little undersized. The one I had cast a .452 boolit and my recollection is that those .44 Remingtons are actually more like .454's. YMMV, but I think you are wise to check before you buy.
