So yesterday I though I would inventory my molds.
As I started, I realized I'm a very messy person.
Molds in three different places.
Two easy to get to.
One not so much.
As I was going through it, I remembered I had tried to do this before.
Getting old. Don't remember to good these days.
I had made a spread sheet on the computer.
I think it was probably for all the mold I could easily get to.
So I moved a bunch of boxes to get to the one's I thought I didn't have on the list.
I wrote down all the molds, with as much info as I could see.
Started this sitting on the ground. Went to a folding step stool. Then got a throw cushions to sit on.
Also lubed them and put them into plastic zip bags.
Had to get up a number of time.
But "I got er dun!!!!"
Took a few hours.
Spent the night adding to the spread sheet.
As I was going, I noticed a few doubles.
Not unusual as I tend to pick up cheap molds when I can find them.
Plus friends give me molds they don't use, and can't be bothered selling.
Thinking back I really should have printed out the list before starting.
Should of, would of, could of.....but didn't.
But I did finnaly finish it.[smilie=w:
Or so I thought.
After going over the list, I knew right away something was wrong.
To many molds. 143
Plus some I know I have, but are not on the list.
[smilie=b:
Probably going to have to go back and do it again.
This time I will take them all out, put the all on a table, and do it right.
Then I wake up this morning and my leg is sore.
Hobbling around all day.
I feel kind of stupid.
Now I know how our gooberment here feels.

Yea you're gonna get it right this time....[smilie=l:
I have tried to take inventory of tools, fishing gear, camping gear, reloading stuff. All I wind up with is more confusion. Gettin old blows ya know, at least for me.

To many molds. 143:

Wow.
I've thinned the herd down to 6,
2 for .38s, a rifle & pistol in .45 cal., and 2 for .30 cal.
And I think that's a lot for me to keep up with & take care of.

I'm at 7. The only overlap is 2 for thirty caliber. I'd really like to find a couple more varieties for 38/357 and 44special and magnum.

Mine are easily accessible, life is better that way. I inventoried this winter, 102 moulds, and that is not counting the Ideal tools with integral moulds.

A few years ago I had all the moulds I needed, maybe 6 or 8. Then I got on this forum, and I have 3 dozen.

I'm not really sure how that happened.

I don't have a huge number but I keep an updated list of them. One list is in the box that I store them in and another is with my master list of guns. In the rare event that I loan one of them I pencil in their name on the list in my mold box.

Putting them in plastic bags is a good idea. Should keep them from breeding and multiplying lol.
I tried taking inventory of my 47 molds, but ran into a sticking point. I forgot all the details on about a dozen custom molds (cast diameter, weight, etc). So now they are piled up next to my lead pot waiting for a good casting session to figure them out again and write it down this time lol.

Yep, this is why I try and not buy new gun in new caliber. Each one adds 2,3 or 4 new molds.....
