I got a chance to load up some WC 860 for my Win Model 70 270 with a Sierra 150gr Jword bullets. For those are interested, here is what I found:
Started off with 54 gr of powder and went to 60. 3 shot groups for starters, 100yds, chrono is a Pact. CCI 200 primers. Bullets were seated to the cannelure, 3.18. NO signs of pressure as far as primer appearance and bolt lift. Not alot of unburnt powder either. I was expecting DIRTY bore, but that was not the case.

54gr= Av 2127, ES 29.4, SD 14.8 1.22" group

56gr= Av 2194, ES 54.3, SD 27.4 1.05" group

58gr= Av 2266, ES 7.0. SD 3.9. 1.15" group

60gr= Av 2319, ES 39.7, SD 20.4, .83 Group

I stopped at 60gr, but the case was not completely full. I will go 61 and 62 this weekend. These were some of the better groups that this Mod 70 has shot!! All the groups were very close to the same sze and well up on my acceptable deer hunting loads as far as group size.
Gonna try more of this!!!

I bought a bunch of 860 years ago along with some 852. I got some tom oswley data with it. his load was 58 gr. of 852, lot 47289, with the 150 and he listed 2880 velocity. I was shooting a case full of 860 in a 300 win mag with a 150 and getting 308 velocities. my experience with it is you need the heaviest bullet weight for the bore to get any pressure/velocity. I have a 6.5 magnum that likes 860, but I load almost everything with the 852. flounderman

.................... Looks to me like you're on the right track. While your velocities and pressure are still so low at this point, I'd immediately switch to a magnum primer and seat the bullet out to at least touch the lands. These two things are the biggest pressure builders, and now is the time to try them for your continued testing beyond where you are now. As expected each grain increase in charge is netting about a 30 fps velocity increase.

Jeff,
All of what Buckshot said. Buckshot is one of the guys that turned me on to 860. I can tell you, it burns about as fast as dirt. Anything you can do to get it burning faster will help. I've even spiked it with a duplex charge of a coupla grains of Unique to get it going.

There will of course be some lot to lot variation.

I thought it a powder that couldn't be overloaded in midsize cases, but found that not to be the case in the Swiss K-31 with Lee 200 grain boolits over 60 grains of the stuff (a compressed charge in neck sized cases) with the oversized bore rider firmly engraved in the rifling and a crimp. Got flattened, cratered primers.

Thanks guys for the info. Buckshot, I will try the mag primer and seating length. I want to obtain at least 2600FPS with this combo. Might not happen!?!?

................You are most likely correct amigo :-) But as a last resort use some brass several times fired in that rifle, and neck sized only cases. Dump your charges through a drop tube as a final attempt.

Got to work with the 270 and the WC860 some more. Here are the results I have on two loads. The chrono did not pick up one load. maybe a little dark for it to read.
63gr WC860
av fps 2430
es 36.3
sd 18.9
ad 14.2
2451,2424,2415
Good group, a little over an inch

65gr wc860
av fps 2515
es 22.1
sd 11.3
ad 8.2
2153,2506,2528

GREAT group 2 shots touching and the other about .75 away

Thats it for now. The 65 gr load is slightly compressed in Win brass.
