will a pre64 Win94 buttstock fit post64

yes it will fit, the fit and finish on the pre 64 was better, but the stock is still the same inletting

There were two different shapes to the top tang. The later ones have a sharp angle to the curve of the tang where it tapers in toward the long, narrow part of the tang. The earlier style had a rounded shoulder. Very obvious once you've looked at them and are looking for that feature. Per Renneberg's "Winchester Model 94: The First Century," this change took place in the late 1,400,000 SN range.
