Two what is it

What's the top one look like inside the hole? I can't tell if that set screw is for a stop or maybe to secure a shaft inside? Maybe some kind of thread cleaning tool? Just a wild guess.

The top one
Hole goes through.
Bright thing is a cutter.
Thumb crew is to adjust the cutter.
Set screws hild the cutter in place after setting.
It is marked J Dewey, so some kind of cleaning tool?????

You really need to drop them in evaporust and clean them up!

Top one might be a gas ring cleaning scraper bottom looksl like a stoning jig much abused.

That's a possibility.
Never heard of J Dewey making anything other that cleaning tools.

Maybe try a hot 10% citric acid solution for the rust?

I found another tool marked J Dewey.
It looks like a shell body holder.
So.............I'm thinking the two go together.
I think it's to thin the neck of cases.

John was famous for his cleaning rods and had a shop in Connecticut before moving to NY.The John Dewey I knew had a shop in Stanfordville, NY. He made some quality bench rest reloading tools and great bench rest rifles I have a primer pocket cleaner he called the Croc-a- Gator. This was back in 1968. He did some scope mounting on shotguns for me around 1971. He had heart problems last time I saw him in the shop . He died in the mid 70's as I remember
For several years he operated as SS&D.which was when Ed Shilen was with him. Ed moved out Ennis, Tx I believe. The John Dewey cleaning rods are still being made. Have one them and great rod. Don't know who owns what anymore. afish4570

So Dewey replied to my email.
They have no idea about it.
Was way before their time.
They think it was made and sold by John Dewey back in the 60's.

Let me kniw if you list it for sale.
I have a set of Dewey benchrest hand dies in .308 Win.
It would be nice to have a matching neck turner.

Those are just spuds.
No cutting blade.
The flats are for a set screw to hold them steady.
I'm guessing the neck has to be sized to the spud.
Then the outside of the neck is thinned to size.
Way beyond my loading hobby.
I also have a few inside reamers.
I think they go with the Foster shell trimmer.
