This mourning I my little dog spotted a king snake in my drive way. He was balled up with what looked like a corn snake. The king snake a little over 2 ft. and the corn snake maybe 18 in. Even living in the sticks all my life I have never seen that and probably never will again. I'm going to check later to see how it goes.

Yeah King snakes kill and eat other snakes. They probably haven't survived but I had pictures of one killing and eating a small copperhead that I took when I was in high school. It took it about an hour or so to do it. When I figured out what was happening I got a camera and and took the pictures about every 15 minutes. Never seen it happen again but gained a new respect for them

I don't know how long they were at it before I found them. Watched a while and went back about an hour later and they were gone. Don't like snakes but it you are going to have them anyway a King snake is the one to have.

Black snakes will also eat other snakes. I have seen them eating garter snakes and pictures of them eating copperheads.

Don’t get your colors mixed up. If it’s a coral snake it’s poisonous. Always wanted a king snake for a pet. None here in WI.

Most likely no coral snakes either.

No snakes are poisonous. All snakes are edible. Rattlesnakes are especially tasty. Some snakes, like rattlesnakes and coral snakes, are venomous. :-)

Had an argument with my previous vet about this. He had to look it up. :-)

The scarlet king snake does look similar to a coral snake. The last scarlet king snake I saw was in 1963, Dad said when he was young they used to be common around here. There are no coral snakes here. The king snakes here are black with a narrow off white or light yellow pattern.

Seems like they fought for a little over an hour- then the king won. What's different from yours is the king I watched was a tad shorter than the corn.
I watched while he tried to swallow the corn, but it was too long- not by much though.
I went back in the house for a bit and when I came back, both were gone. The king must have gotten him down.
I'll see if I can find a picture or 3...
