What are some good uses around the house for the sturdy cardboard tubes that Scotch whisky comes in?

They would make good mailing tubes for scopes and bullet molds and other thin items too long for a small FRB, but mail people along the way might think it's still got whisky in it (liquid, perishable, etc.) if it's heavy enough.

I have found they are good for filling my recycle can! Using them as mailing tube is only asking for a USPS inspector to open it up, even if outside is covered or painted.

Can't ya just take them back to the store for a refill?

Fill'em with water and shredded paper to use as a "simulated small varmint" for load testing.

I’ve cut them down for holding cotton swabs on the cleaning bench.

Fill 'em with cast boolits. Should make a unique storage system.

No good uses whatsoever you should fill them back up with full scotch bottles and send them to me!

No bueno for using them to mail anything...

I needed to mail my daughter some supplies to Japan back in February and while at the liquor store, noticed a stack of very sturdy cardboard boxes with cardboard dividers. Perfect. Got all the supplied packed in and taped up the box and took it to the post office. They threw a fit and said I couldn't use it because it was a liquor box. Even thought there was no liquor being mailed. Government. I ended up taping it all up with solid tape so you couldn't see the offensive markings.

I don't know what to do with them, but I have 47 of them after the quarantine.

I finally quite throwing them away a couple years ago. I now have 4 of the above mentioned liqueur boxes full of them in storage for some "brainstorm" coming someday.

Crystal radio sets for kids! Nice intro to radio and electronics for them and fun to play with! I have the one I built 50 years ago!
