Loading for the old ones...
These loads have worked well for me in my 1877 Baby Russian and my Safety hammerless revolvers and won't strain them.
In a 38 s and W case I load 10 grains of ffg with a Lee Bullet cast 363 and sized to 360 from the Lee mould for the 9mm Makarov. The bullet weighs in at 112 grains from softer lead. FFFg will work also you want just a little light compression.
For those who don't like Black the 360 round ball seated over a Lee dipper # .5cc of trail boss is a nice light load that doesn't stress the old guns. I tumble lube the balls after I cast then with Lee liquid allox and let them dry and then just thumb seat them about 1/2 way onto the case mouth and crimp lightly.
My old guns are mostly 359 to 360 bore diameter so I use the bigger bullet or ball.
