I have a Remington rolling block chambered for the 58 Roberts cartridge. Its a hoot to shoot. Knowing I have this rifle, a collector friend gave me this nice original 58 cartridge. While its not a 58 Roberts, I believe it to be a .58 musket/carbine cartridge made by Frankford Arsenal.
Here are the specs:
OAL - 1.713"
Case length - .1.225"
Rim diameter - .748"
Rim thickness - .075"
Bullet diameter ahead of case mouth - .588"
I think it is Benet primed.
What do you guys think? Pictured with my .58 Roberts cartridge.
