You bet, the 7-30 is not a cast boolits viable candidate but I thought it a interesting find. BNIB from 1990, will have it in my mitts by this time tomorrow........

My contender bbl shoots good groups and has never seen jacketed. There are several molds that might serve you well, Saeco had a 140 gr that I believe was designed for the 7-30. https://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/product/productId/16908. I am not sure if NOE's hunter has enough meplate to shoot in a tube but you could take a look.

My Contender Carbine with 22" Bullberry 7x30 Waters barrel shoots the Lee 7mm soup can 135gr. boolet very well. I use Jkt. to hunt with but practice and case forming (I use 30/30 cases) is done with the cast.

The 7mm THOR bullet shoots very well for me in a 7-30 Contender.

Thank You for all the valued input, much appreciated. My BNIB 7-30 arrived yesterday....
I have enough heavy hitters, time for a bit of finesse.

Congrats on your "New" rifle! I absolutely love the 7-30 Waters cartridge. I have a Contender super 14 barrel in it that has won me several "Sillywet" matches, and have actually taken a several deer and one elk with it. I also choose to hunt with jacketed bullets with it though, and to be honest it was a real booger for me (at first) to get it to shoot well with cast. After a bit of frustration and a lot of persistence, I was finally able to get pretty decent results with cast boolits. The moral of the story is that it is actually a viable CB cartridge.
