When I ran a PC with Windows the right click had a "search for similar images" function that was a huge help when identifying odd things. I have not figured out how to do this on my Mac.

What are they selling it as ?

I've picked up several good deals when the seller had no clue as to what the item was or it's real value.
They can come up with some very "creative " descriptions of what the object is ...after that the price can become just as creative ... most think whatever they have is rare and valuable but sometimes they let it go for a pittance . Once I got a Eagle Cobra 300 Press for next to nothing and another time a set of never used Bonanza loading dies , still in factory box in 41 magnum for $9.95 .

E-Bay is like a box of chocolates ... you just never know what you might find .

It looks to me like a fare box that was used on buses.
