Ive never used it . Little slower than unique and universal

Almost smack dab between Reddot/Bulllseye/Titegroup and H110. My second most used powder after H110.

357 Mag, 44 Mag, and 45 Colt are all happy using it. It does like to be run up towards the top though. No possible pressure problems with it being used in light loads (like H110), but it won't be clean and probably not terribly accurate either. Run it where it wants to be, and the cases look very clean and the accuracy rivals H110. Call it a medium load powder.

If you don't care for H110 recoil but still need power, this might be the powder.

My most used powder for mid range loads. I use it 357,41,44 and 45 Colt. I buy 8 pound jugs when I find them. Happy Shooting! Boats

I use pounds of it in 38/357, 44 magnum and 45 Colt with magnum primers. There are others that say using magnum primers are not needed but I have found that using magnum primers for my loads make a difference.
It is a bit loud though.

I think it is one of the best for max power 9mm. As said before, you need to load it for high pressure to get the best accuracy and clean burns.

I would not use it in light loads, but you could......just dirty, when loaded light.

I use a Small Rifle Primer with it in the 9mm.

I have found that it is excellent for 40 S&W cast boolit loads!

When I first acquired my .475 Linebaugh, John recommended a load using HS6. Not max but there are other powders for that.

I run it in .357sig, .44mag, .380 and some .357mag. It is has fairly low muzzle flash and meters well.

I agree. I use it for just about everything I load, .32 S&W Long, .32 Mag, .38 Spec, .357, .44 Spec, .45 ACP, .45 Colt.
When I started handloading, the highest velocity loads in .45 Colt with the bullets I wanted to use from my Speer #10 were with HS-6, so I started using it with magnum primers. Ended up using it for just about everything. Excellent for loads in .45 ACP, .44 Special, .38 Special (with the 169gr SWC), ok for reduced .357 loads. Funny I only loaded a few boxes of Speer J-bullets in .45 Colt, after all. Not the best with the tiny calibers (.32 S&W "short" or .32 ACP) or the magnum rounds (.357) but useful for a lot in between.

HS-6 provides the best accuracy I've found for cast .45 Colt loads. For cast loads in other handgun cartridges, other powders usually do at least a little better as for accuracy.

I used to use it in 40 S&W....when I got rid of it...I switched its use to 9mm. HS-6 works just fine in the 9mm.

I use it for my 40 S&w loads with a plated 165 gr or my lee 180 gr tc. Works great. But likes the upper end on loading, smaller groups

I was working up 45 colt loads for Rossi 92 a couple weeks ago with a mp 454640, new starline brass and cci primers, on approaching a 9.5 grains it was pushing primers out a little bit, not sure why but I went to different powders, 18-20 grains 4227 did not have this problem and velocities were higher
