Howdy folks,
last week I ordered this 45 400 MP mold. I would have preferred a lighter one, but the 370 grainer wasn't available at the time.
IMHO it's a nice looking boolit, plain based with large lube grooves.. If it works great, perhaps I'll hunt the entire boar season with it and black powder.
I'm happy: it's a beautiful piece of work, and it came fast. It casts easy, perhaps with a little bit of galling.
It drops 411 grains boolits with 1/16 alloy, and unfortunately .461" / .462" as cast. I'm slightly disappointed, cause I was expecting .460" with pure lead, and a tiny weeny less with tin, so I wouldn't have had to size. My rifle likes .459".
No big deal, if it ain't for the 1886, it'll suit another rifle, or for a buddy... I'll order others.

Sweet lookin mold, very nice boolits too!
I have several brass molds from MP, and they are simply the best molds to produce the best boolts, Enjoy your mold, and I am sure it will get some more of his molds.

I love MP's molds also. If you're getting galling, MP gives a little bottle of sprue plate lube. Use sparingly and maybe give the sprue a little more time to cool.

MP Molds are addictive and tend to multiply.
