I use a cast bullet of 75 gr RNFP over 2.2 gr of Red Dot in my 1903 but was looking at Midway and came accross this: Underwood Ammunition 32 ACP +P 55 Grain Lehigh Xtreme Defender. Looks like it is in comp with BB for 1000 ft/sec club. Anyone used this ammo and is it close to BB in performance. My favorite gun is the 1911 in .45 ACP but my hands say no, so I'm down to the .32 ACP for more than one or two rounds. From what I read my Red Dot round equals BB or a little more out of my 1903 Colt.

Regular .32acp FMJ is all I use in my old Colt. Gel tests show more than adequate penetration from standard fmj. I don’t think the marginal ballistic improvement from a hot loaded flat nose is worth the potential of damaging a 100 year old pistol. YMMV.

Your 1903 Colt is lots sturdier than the light alloy frame and injection molded plastic wonders they sell today. I used a 1914 Type III as the test platform for working up my Buffalo Bore Equivalent loads. After replacing the original springs with new Wolf replacements it digested more heavy bullet rounds than the quantity used to shoot TWO Beretta Tomcats to destruction.

Yeah the Tomcats are pretty frail.

One of the most painful guns I ever shot was a friend's KelTec P32. One magazine and I was done with that for good.

I've looked at that Lehigh bullet, for a snubby in .32swl in a steel frame charter arms.

What was the painful part ? Slide bite or ? Mines a pleasure to shoot with euro factory ball . Would rather shoot it than my Kahr CW45

I would not trust a round that short to feed reliably.
