Of Hodgdon HS-6, Accurate #5 and VV 3n37
Which one would be the best candidate for measuring out to 0.1 grain. I need to do consistent loads within 0.1 grains.

I've never used the VV powders, so can't speak to them. AA #5 flows like water. HS6 is close to that.

Agreed. Anything with small grains or small flakes will run well.

The Winchester ball powders also meter very consistently. But they are double based, most with graphite coatings. That's the reason Winchester primers are hot, so use them.

Bizarrely, the small Lee 0.30, 0.32 and 0.34 cavities in their Disk measures will bridge Titegroup on occasion and throw squibs. Yes, it sounds as improbable as can be. They will not do it with WST and Bullseye. Discovered this when developing 32 Long and 32 Special standard and moderate loads using wadcutters and SWC in 32 and wadcutters in 38.

So oddly enough based on my experience I would not recommend Titegroup as “best metering” given the conditions I describe.

Metered charges is why I changed to AA pistol powders. Win 231 was the first I tried and got me hooked on using the powder measure (Lee Autodisk on Loadmaster).

PS they do not always throw a charge accurate to 0.1gn. But, chronograph results are very good so I just throw the charges. Rifle loads still get weighed.

Same here , I use a hornady measure and it throws dead on every time with those two
