View Full Version : Belting Projects
Two of my project are:
I started making a 444B, using a 376 Steyr case and belting it.
That led to a suggestion to turn a belt off a Mag case, then reduce the diameter.
Holey Crap, it works! I now have longer case called the BOSS. [Belted Ought Six Straight]

I have been making 240 Weatherby cases out of 06 brass. Works well. [straight wall]
For my 41-240x2.170", I use 7mm Mauser brass. Saves me the step of inside neck reaming.

Like minds ....you are so making what I've been pondering for a long time , a belted 30-06 case from 240 weathetby brass taking . 408- .410 booolits ... Bigger selection of bullets larger then a .429 that's offered , basically a 405 win with. A belt

Just hope it's more of a thumper than the 1.6 x 44 cartridge

Using Quality Cartridge 400 Whelen brass makes a nice 405B Belted.
In my Savage it will drive a 300 TSX 2545 fps. and a shortened TSX to 210 grain 3000 fps.
But with the belted down 300 Win mag, I can make even longer brass for the 405B.

Wow , how about keeping the OAL at 2.8 on 308 brass and at 10 platform and launching 400 grainers at 1400 fps , is it even possible ?????? Be like having 20 rounds of 45-70 on tap

That is my pistol, 41-240x2.170".......that is a short action Sako with a 14.5" barrel. Will launch a 300 at 2150 fps. It can be made out of Mauser brass belted.
The 308 with 400s is totally doable!!
