I assume thats the 22 Hipower case......must be similar to the 7mm/30/30s that were the rage about 25 years ago.....Actually ,22 Hipower was a very effective round against quite big scrub bulls ,and once very popular here.

was Elgin Gates invention based off the 357 Max case from the mid 70s ,,,bought a B.A. Brown silhouette pistol earlier this year in the 7mm SM and thought it would work well in a small martini .Not a fan of the short neck and used the 5.6x50R Mag case to get a neck

nothing new just a longer neck ,I can still use the shorter necked one in the martini

mine is a thick wall small frame martini ,have not seen a 7x57 built on one of these as they have limitation on how long and tapered the cartridge is to make the turn into the chamber

so thats from my project ,others who done this would be more helpful on the higher pressure chamberings

You would need a large frame martini for a full length 7x57 .

.

I once shot a rebored Cadet, converted to .32 Winchester Special.

Among other things, the top of the breechblock was altered to allow loading the longer cartridge; and when shot, it kicked the snot out of me...…. :holysheep
