Does anyone have any load data or experience loading 357 mag with Cast Performance lead wide flat nose gas check. I’m using H110 powder. I can find data on Hodgdons website for 180gn bullets but I believe they are jacketed. My manual doesn’t have this specific bullet either, so I’ve loaded these with the starting charges of h110 listed for the other 180gn bullets and plan to work my way up. I’m just curious if anyone has any experience. Im shooting them out of a 16” carbine and a 686+, I’d like to hunt deer with the carbine.

I am shooting Noe's 360-182 in a 10inch Dan Wesson. 13.5 gr of ww296 gave me 1180 fps with decent accuracy. 17.2 gr of Alliant 300mp was good for 1430 with no pressure signs. The 300mp load showed good accuracy out to 200 meters. I have worked with 2400 and gotten good accuracy, but haven't ran it over a chronograph.

I have indeed loaded that exact boolit in my 686 also. I load 12.6 grs of 2400 with a CCI non mag primer and it gives 1238 fps for a 5 shot average with very good accuracy. 13.5 grs of 2400 goes 1297 from my 6" gun and it is really accurate as well. My other load is 13.5 grs of H-110 and a Magnum primer for 1270 fps and it might be slightly more accurate than 2400 but not much. Remember that H-110 has to have a mag primer. As always, reduce these loads to start with but they are not excessive in my 686 no dash S&W. The 180 gr Cast Performance GC boolit is a powerful and accurate combination for me. I have a friend who shoots these loads from his revolver and he says they dispatch hogs with noooo problem.

I used to buy that boolit from their website. Each box is supposed to come with loading data but mine never did. I remember calling them and one of their techs relayed a load range for Lil Gun. If you do call I would strongly recommend beginning with whatever starting load they provide. I experienced pressure signs half way through the range. Then again, I would have no qualms using jacketed data for cast so long as the boolit is of a proper alloy for the velocity and pressure.
