Decided I should get a new handgun did some digging and found this gem. Really a nice looking gun. I have a pile 255 grain WC HP plainbase loaded over Unique this is going to be fun. 259928

I was recently looking at those as well but it was a bit outside my budget. Instead I found a regular stainless blackhawk with the 4 5/8 barrel to play with. I can't wait for it to show up as this will be my entry into 45 LC.

Hopefully have it by the weekend then I will run a variety of reload through it. What’s great about the Ruger you can run it like you want so high powered 45 LC is a beast the unflutted cylinder adds meat to the cylinder for sure. I will report back once I get it.

Well had good range session with this wonderful gun. It is really nice looking in fact better in person than any picture could do it justice. I shot a wide variety of reloads everything from the light loaded 255 grain Keith Stuke hollow point to 310 grain loaded over 22 grains of Win 296. I also ran some full house 210 grain HP jacketed loaded over H4227.

That birds head grip is the cats rear end. It really helps handle recoils as does the heft of this fine gun. Longer range shooting is not the best with the big XS front sight but for 25 yards and under that site setup is fantastic. Just focus on the front site and it really does it’s job. This link is to a video posted on Instagram. 6-shots 10 seconds all center mass. Distance was 25 feet. I really like the 310 grain WFN loaded Ruger hot it is accurate easy to keep on target and it really is a great game getter.

Actually the fluted and non fluted cylinders are the same strength, the webs between chambers, outer walls, and bolt cuppets are the same thickness on both cylinders.

I would sure like the science behind those small "birdshead" grips giving good felt recoil and control. Looks very cool but I guess I can not wrap my old brain around how they work.

Sure is a great lookin revolver tho. Really like the unfluted cylinder and the basic finish. A workmans gun.

How is accuracy? Rugers seem to run hot n cold from gun to gun.

The bird heads grip rolls very nicely in your hand opposed to driving back into your hand. I had no issue shooting about 50 rounds of the 310 grain WFN over 22 grains of WW296 through this Gun today. The low level 45lc were a piece of cake in the video I put this link on above were 210 grain Ruger level loads you can see I had no issue keeping them center mass. Accuracy is good I did not run it past 30 yards as the XS sights are not really great for that. This gun is workman style to it and yet very appealing to the eye. I will do some more accuracy work over the next couple months I want to load some 310 grain WFN over Unique to midrange to see how they run.

I got so caught up in shooting 45 LC that I forgot this gun comes with a 45acp cylinder as well. I cast up a bunch of 255 grain WFN GC today I think they will be great all around boolit for the LC especially loaded to the Ruger levels. The. For lighter carry loads hard to beat the 45acp loaded with Speer 230 grain HP. Looking forward to kor range work with this fine handgun.

Try your 255 gr. boolit with 4.8 gr. of Titegroup. Really a nice shooting load. Interesting to have adjustable target sights on that gun. I like it.

I tried a very close load to that but with Universal it was really nice and ran excellent in my Henry Classic as well.

I have the structure to handle that ...... work with much heavier things than that ����
