How fragile are our casting equipment suppliers?

So I finally got around to trying a new Lee C309 180 mold I had ordered over a year ago. My Ruger American Compact just loves this boolit over 17 gr. of 2400. Got a 1/2" group at 50 yds. yesterday. This is just a 2 cavity mold and I thought I would pick up another so I could use two at a time. Well, that mold along with a lot of other Lee molds was out of stock everywhere I looked. That got me thinking of what it would be like if Lee went under. They make quite a few products for casters that no one else makes. Their Pro 4-20 pot for instance. Simple and affordable and something I would not want to do without. I did notice that the mold is still available on Lee's website. Going to order one today along with a spare 4-20 pot and some of their case forming lube.

I worry that the fallout from this Chicom virus pandemic could kill off some of our suppliers. What do you all think?

I hope not . But it has got to be tough on small business I went to the SNS web sight yesterday and they are not taking orders until this is all over.
It has got to be really tough for people that can't work from home , or own a business they have had to shut down.

I had the same experience a week or two back. I couldn't find a mold for the 9mm boolit I like anywhere, and eBay was even getting premium prices for used. I went to the Lee site, placed the order, and the mold showed up a couple days later. It looks like Lee is still open for business.

Yes, it's tough on the small businesses. And I can understand where Lee might have limits on production as Wisconsin was quick to limit non-essential businesses. If they have a limited amount of product available, they would want to sell it through their storefront where the profit is going to be considerably higher. On the other hand, Lee may be running normally and it's a problem getting the product to their sellers.

I worry about the Democrat Left Leaning Socialist Virus .
You guys are trying to buy in a panic ... Need to get out of this one and then get prepared for the next panic...with the inter net , social media and CNN it doesn't take much to stampede the herd and send them into a full blown panic mode .


Need to get prepared now .
Lee may catch a lot of flack...but they are an American co. and all they produce is made in America . Give them some support .

It’s not times like this when you have to worry about them. They can’t get products out the door fast enough. A shift in the political climate will effect them more. All it takes is some inane legislation and they would have to close their doors the next day.

Rust is inanimate. We can control rust as we chose but determined Dims force us to be locked together at the ramparts of liberty or we will all go down in submission together ... onto our knees.

I have no political party loyalty, per se, I don't have much respect for any of them. In fact, I really don't know what Republicans are, but I do know what Democrats are, so, by default I only vote for politicians who don't have a (D) after their name.

I always vote what I consider the "thinking man's" ticket - straight anti-demmycrat! I'll be 80 before Nov. 3 and have voted in every election since I turned 21; don't recall that I've EVER voted for any Dim.

I’m more worried about lead being outlawed. We may be the last generation that gets to enjoy casting and shooting lead bullets. I’m 66 now and have been casting since 1968. Don’t think our grandkids will have the same experiences that we did.

I think our biggest fear should be legislation. Maybe later on their ability to manufacture will be restricted due to "stay at home" orders or problems procuring raw material. But right now they should be getting rich! I think most of these companies are established well enough to weather a short downturn. Heres to hoping!
