does anyone have a decent way to get ahold of results from past shooting competitions in Michigan for state police and the Governers cup shooting competition from the 1950s and 1960s?

Have tried contacting various shooting ranges that host some of the shooting contests, the state police, and the governers office with no luck.

I would check with the historical society, most Counties have them, check with the ones where the competitions were held...many times the Library in that area, are the headquarters for them.

I don't know of any organization that keeps that type of info. In WV the Governor's Cup was the top 20 police officers in the PPC state match.
Your best bet would be newspaper articles, pistol club records and fellow shooters.

the Michigan organization recommended on a reply here, doesn't have a functional email so I assume they went defunct for the year..

I have no idea of knowing what ranges or clubs were used back then. Many have ceased to exist. And the current state police cant be bothered to send a reply to me.

The NRA HQ is closed down, and not open until late this month.

does EVERY post require elaboration, such as "last year one day, I was sipping coffee late at night and emailed the NRA folks about this, and Never got a reply"

In WV the govenors cup was a big deal. Many times the Govenor presented the awards. Many times the awards was covered by the press.
