I'm trying to decide between the following molds. Used in 2 Henry .357's, various S&W 38 Spl and new S&W 686+ .357
Need to know of any problems, opinions, casting results. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.

Arsenal 360-162-RF

Accurate 36-162V and 36-165V

MP Mold 359-640 Dual crimp groove and 360-640 single crimp groove. I like the idea of HP's and solids from the same mold. Does it actually work in the real world.

Thanks for the info.

The MP 359640 dual crimp groove mold is one of my best casting HP molds. In the pic below the middle and right bullets came out of my 2.5" .38 snubbie.

I would want to confirm that the large meplat Accurate 36-162V and 165V would indeed feed in the Henry. I have my doubts.

Not familiar with the Arsenal and MP moulds you listed. As general-purpose bullets in my .38 Specials and .357s I like:

The mp 359-640 is 1 of my favorite molds for the 38spl's/357's. 158gr and 170gr bullets are what I consider excellent weight for both calibers.

A couple years ago I bought a nib 686, wanted to develop a plinking load for it to shoot shotgun shells @ 50ft. Instead of shooting bowling pins @25ft. We use the same rules/table and setup shotgun shells & shoot them @ 50ft. I like seating the 359-640's long/in the lower crimp groove when loading them in the 38spl cases. Doing so gets the nose of the bullet out into the throat of the cylinders. The lower bullet in the picture pictured below is set out further into the cylinder throat.

Doing this with the fn/wfn style bullets aid in bullet alignment/accuracy & makes it extremely easy to find accurate loads. I've showed these targets before, they're not hand/cherry picked by any means. They're nothing more then the test targets used that day testing loads in that nib 686. These are 6-shot groups @ 50ft using 2 different powders with the mp 359-640's crimped in the lower crimp grooves set in 38spl cases.
