Yo - I have this nice MP-200-452 4-banger that turned out beautiful boolits, FAST, when new (several years ago), but on last try yesterday, boolits didn't want to release from spikes. I mean, it's like they were welded on! What is my problem? My immediate recourse was to fire up the Dremel with a wire wheel and teach the spikes a lesson - but then intellect took over and I decided to ask my bus here what to do. So - what? I had brushed (Q-Tip) with mold lube, then wiped off with clean end...
Help!

I sprayed all of mine with Moly lube. Takes care of them sticking. One more thing you can check is to make sure your lead is up to the right temp. If the lead is on the colder side of what is needed the bullets can stick from that too.

Moly lube - I'll try it...

Try a lead pencil, color the pins.

Polish 'em with automotive cleaner wax or rubbing compound first to be sure they're real slick.

They may a bit of surface rust too faint to see, but enough to 'grab'.

Cold pins will do it. Are you preheating on a hot plate?

Try a lead pencil, color the pins.

I've got over a dozen of his molds and this is the first thing I do after cleaning and assembling the mold. I had one problematic mold that I repeatedly had problems with after pre-heating. I finally disassembled the pins, chucked the up in a drill and polished the machine marks off of the pins, cleaned, cold blued and re coated with pencil graphite. Not a problem after that.

First try coating with graphite from a pencil and preheating.

Pins need to be smooth (polished) and hot to release. Graphite or mold release helps, but smooth and hot will Git 'r' dun.

Chuck them in a drill motor, turn on a buffing wheel, turn on the drill, buff for about ten to fifteen seconds. Clean, then do what others have said above. It will usually solve the problem.

Liquid Wrench Dry Lubricant L512 , get bottle of liquid and coat pins with a Q-Tip ... and cavities too for that matter ...
Boolits will not stick and want to jump out the mould....I didn't believe it either But...
It works better than a New Orleans Voo-Doo Woman's black magic charm....try it just one time .

Thanks, guys! I will let you know what I tried (will try them ALL!) and results! Super!

Unfortunately the penta points can't be spun in a drill. I have had to use a needle file followed by 400 then 600 grit wet-dry sandpaper. I then moly coat them. Still need to have the up to temperature.

I'll second comments about pre-heating the mould and keeping pins hot (as in cast fairly fast and steady). Hot boolits drop of hot pins.

I find that cold pins result in sticking but boolits drop right off hot pins with my Mihec moulds... even penta pins.

Additional "help" in the way of graphite or sprue plate lube won't hurt either but in my opinion heat if the key.

I decided to try one after another of the solutions, easiest being pencil coating - did it, and Dang, at the improvement! One spike is still recalcitrant occasionally, and I will address that, but Thanks, Guys! Son will be overjoyed, as am I...

I just purchased that same mold last month.

I cleaned it, heat cycled it, smoked the pins, put the mold on the hot plate, got the lead hot and started dropping beautiful bullets.
