An acquaintance allowed me to use his Beretta 92 at the range the other day. I liked it so much that I bought my own and awaiting the delivery.
His gun had a wrap-around rubber grip, including around the backstrap, that I could not find online. I have not asked what brand it was :(
Online, I found two products available in my location: Hogue 92000 and 92010.

From the experience of those who carry the surplus 92, which is the best option: to keep the surplus grips, or to put the wrap-around 92000 on it, or the panel 92010?

Stay with the original grips if carrying. If wearing a tee shirt in hot weather the rubber grips tend to snag the shirt if worn outside the pants thus printing. The plastic ones don't as easily do this. Or get an IWB holster which does help. I have a Bravo Concealment kydex IWB holster I bought for my S&W M&P 2.0 in 9mm. I'm fat and even with a tee shirt it does not show. Frank

I concur. Depends on how you are using it. I have two of these. One is an M9 that I bought new. Says US Government on the side. The other is a 92FS.
For me, I found that the original factory grips work really well. Easy to carry in the waist. I'm a fan of Hogue grips. But not for this gun.

Just wanted to clarify: is the concern over Hogue rubber grips only in that they make the grip bulkier?

Just wanted to clarify: is the concern over Hogue rubber grips only in that they make the grip bulkier? The rubber grips are tacky, so that makes them hard to conceal. Open carry would not be a problem. Sometimes I carry mine butt forward Mexican style, and the factory plastic grips are perfect for that. Someday I may purchase some Factory Walnut grips to Spruce it up a bit but who knows?

If you are talking about the surplus Italian pistols with the grip button mag release, I’m not sure there are any aftermarket grips.
