loaded with heavy boolits? anyone try? I was thinking about a 300whisper barrel for TC Encore but maybe a 30 carbine loaded heavy might do the trick.

I've loaded up through 311291 in M1 Carbines but the slow twist wouldn't stabilize the bullets. My understanding is the current TC barrels for 30 Carbine have 10" twist (?) but that the older ones had 20" twists. I'd like an older one with the 20" twist but can't seem to find one. My .32 H&R TC barrel has a 10" twist and .309 groove depth but if you put a heavy bullet in that case theres not much room left for powder. Probably be good for subsonic but I've not been there yet. The RCBS 30-150-FN will eat up about 50% of the case capacity but should work. Some day maybe I'll get around to it.

Still looking for an older TC .30 carbine barrel.

you would want the throat cut so you could seat the boolit out pretty far and could use maybe 15-16 gr's of 2400.
you might wanna look at like the 30-20 t/c which iirc is a 32-20 blown out to a tapered case down to 30 cal.
it might offer just a bit more case capacity.
i am thinking the new 327 round would be more like what you want just with a bit larger diameter boolit like for a 303.
