I have been looking and waiting for this mold to come in stock for a very long time(long enough to call Al and ask him to do a run) of my 4 Cavity 310-165 HP. After cleaning and 5 heat cycles of 10 min each I got to casting. After around 30-40 min it started dropping great bullets, this is my first adventure into casting HP and I think I’m going to like it!!

This is for my 308 TC compass which shoots dime size groups with the Lee 309-150(gotta love 1/12 twist) at 100 yards with being chronyed at 2400fps. I don’t think the deer stand a chance. Now for hunting I’m going to be casting with the shallow cup for white tails here in KY not the deep HP 258502258503258504258505

Looks like a great boolit. Are you powder coating the Lee 150s also? Which powder coat are you using at 2400fps? does it leave any residue behind at those velocities?
TIA
Glenn.

Yes I PC the Lee 150 just doing the shake and bake with harbor freight Red. I’ve got 2lbs left then I am out. I haven’t lubed a bullet in over 7 years and I will never lube another one again. As far as residue I’ve shot somewhere around 7-800 with out cleaning my barrel. So very little to no residue.

LOOKS GOOD!!!

I haven’t had great accuracy yet. But expansion isn’t a problem!!!

Shot it in my 300 blk & 30-30 so far. Maybe the ol Springfield 03. Not looking for velocity, just accuracy. Mines a PB Mold too.

The squeaky wheel get's the grease ...
I had to do a little "pestering" before Al did a run of a 9mm Luger mould that was cut for a gas check...
Seems like me and two others were the only ones interested in gas checked 9mm boolits , but with enough gentle squeaking he came through... Al's nice people .

Al is a great guy! I have bought 3-4 5 cavity molds from him for my 300 blackouts. I have 3 and all 3 have super tight throats so hopefully this one works for super sonic hunting in a 8.5” pistol AR and my Ruger Ranch in 300. We will find out soon when the 4-500 I cast last night has time to harden up a bit.. I fasted these up with a little more Tin then I normally do to aid in expansion. Hopefully these in a 300 with IMR4198 will do the job I hope to get 15-1800 out of these

I don't have the HP version, but the plain base one, lubed with 45-45-10 shoots great in my 30-06.
