I stopped by the local Scheels yesterday and spotted a nice 357 lever action, that is till I picked it up and the barrel was loose and moving sideways.. I asked a staff member about it and he agreed it was loose and had no idea why, I have no idea either.
It does not appear to be a takedown, or is it?

Wasn't fitted properly and they substituted locktite goop for a proper barrel. I had a couple of these come in this way from Charter Arms. The real fix is a properly fitted washer/shim and tighten the barrel properly. The quick fix is more goop and hope it holds this time.

Barrel shimming and headspace $75.00

With time for a bit of Googling I found this to be a common problem. But, I cannot justify buying a $900.,00 rifle with a floppy barrel.

hmmmm never seen this nor heard of it before - must be twenty Uberti's in out local BP club.

Brass gun??? somebody had the barrel out and overtightened it? guess that would do it

Proper RED loctite would fix it (for ever)
