Dillon 450 $199.99(not for sale)

Folks, just the other day I was going thru some old invoices on gun related stuff, and came across an old invoice formDillon from 1983 when I bought a new 450set up for 7mm TCU for $199.99!!
I didn't find one for my Square Deal B but if I recall, back in those days they were "around " $139.00.

I found marriage certificate last nite my bride was only 19 when I got her, going on 37 yrs now. Funny the new ones don't seem to last as long.

My 3 bedroom brick house payment was 109 bucks per month in 1972

Yep, I remember them at 200$, was too much for me at the time. Been married a year and little $$ for extras on 9$/ hr. Remember buying a qurters worth of gas on occasion, and a dollars worth was good for the weekend! Yeah, country boys had cash flow issues!
My bride was 23, also been 38 years for us. Got my Dillon 450 in 98 for 100$(Used but not abused), it’s still around too.

How many here remember gas at less than fifty cents a gallon?

In 1971-72, when I was making about $1.35 an hour and min. wage was $1.15, it was 33 cents for 90-95 octane.
If you got out of the city, you could find it for .29.

A decent used car could be found for $200-300.

I got my 550 for $250.00; they stretched the payment out for 5 or 6 months. Still have it but have a whole lot more $$$ invested in it.

In 1971, I worked at a gas station. One day we got a call to raise the price of premium to 44 cents per gallon. My first thought was that we wouldn't be selling much gas at that price.

Someday we'll be talking about how back 2020 you could buy a deer rifle or poly pistol for $250. And how a box of 223 could be had for $6, or $4 for the Russian stuff.

Yep, everything is relative. My salary in 1975 was $650 a month and I thought I was rich. Car payment was $150 and rent for two bedroom apt was $200. So, that Dillon was really expensive even back then.

PS I could have bought a new Ferrari for $12,000

Regular gas 23-25 cents a gallon 100+ was 6 - 10cents more. There
was one company that sold unleaded gas and I think the name was Amoco.
Cigarettes 25-30 cent a pack and pretty much anyone could buy them.
This was from 1955 to the early 70s time period I was born 1950.

I remember it @ .19 a gallon. That was during a "gas war". Normal price then was .23 a gallon. This back in '56.

During one gas war back in the late 60's one gas station had his tanker go across the street and bought gas from his competitor cause it was 2 cents less than he could get it for from the distribution point.

I remember gas @27 cents a gallon before 1973.
Worked at Krogers for $1.85 an hour. Milk was $1.21 a gallon.
Bought a Dillon 450 in 1980 for $169.IIRC
.38 JHP 125 G. bullets were $3.95 a hundred. 55 g. 224 were $3.00 a hundred
A used 70 series Colt GM was $225. in the early 80's.
I bought a Colt Python 6" blue for $389. The gun store sold to me to get rid it.

Bought my RL-450 in 1979. Not many progressive presses available back in the day.

Its set up to load 45ACP only, since i sold the M16A1. Change over time is to long.

Talk about price differences. New M16A1 Carbine in 1979, under $700 + $200 tax stamp. Current price used $25,000 or more. :shock:
