Hello, just ordered a 460 barrel for my TC Encore and I cast a 260 grain bullet from a NOE mold. I need another for the 454 and 460. Not sure what these single shots may like. I’ll just use the mold from Al for the 45 and it may be ok for 454 not sure. I’m using Rcbs cowboy dies for the 45 colt since it had 2 expanders it kept me from buying an M die. Stick with another set of Rcbs for other 2 calibers or something else you would recommend.

I did a 45 Raptor , rimless 460 , the Lee dies suffice from .358-.451 . A bolt gun I just shot initially what I had for ACP , Schofield , and Colts . 1-16" in a 16" barrel . Unique and H322 were great with 200,250-265 and a 350 gr bullets .

There's no print data for H322 .

Try Lee # 90228 6 cavity, GC, 300gr. Might like it:bigsmyl2:

I ordered a 290 gr GC mold from NOE and the 15” Encore I shot them in loved it. It’s a found/flat nose and I have run it way over 2k FPS with no leading at all. I have tried Accurate 1680 and H110 with success but it prefers H110. I bought a set of Lee dies for the 454 and they work great for the 460. The 290 gr is a very accurate and powerful Boolit for this gun. Good luck with yours.

Murf205. What did you size your cast bullets at. In my Henry 45 I sized to .454. I haven’t slugged this one yet but I have a bunch of 45 loaded up sized at .452 which is what revolver needed. Looks like most factory bullets are .451.

I sized to .452 after powder coating. Gas check was put on with a Lee push through die at the same time.

What did you use for lubricant to run powder coated bullets through the sizing die.

I have recently bought a MiHec 45-340 gas check hp. Have had preliminary luck with a couple loads over H110 and HS6 both with Winchester primers. I have not had a chance to get serious about chasing the most accurate load as I was just working up the ladder. These are loaded into a SRH 454 7 1/2”. 258192

My mold drops at .454-.455 so about every 3rd boolit I use some light Singer sewing machine oil to make the operation smooth. I use the Singer sewing machine oil (Wal mart) because it wipes off easily. I use Lee push through dies and each one has a interior finish of its own and the one I have is pretty smooth. Some could use a little polishing with Flitz and a patch but be careful, they are not all that hard and you can open one up a thousandth if you aren't careful.

Good looking boolit brother. Now THAT'S a hollowpoint!

Thank you and yes it is a huge hp. With acww they come in right at 330 grains checked and coated. Enough to make an impression on your target. Max velocity I could get was about 1570. I am sure the 460 would up that noticeably. They drop at 454 and I powdercoat press the check on then size with a Lee sizing die to 454. I don’t lube as I am not putting much squeeze on them and am a bit concerned about lube on powdercoat and 454 recoil possibly jumping crimp. Oh and the .2989 bc is nice too. Ymmv.

This is the favorite for my 460. It's a 300 gr Lee and it shoots as well as I can. I have a 290gr round flat nose that shoots almost as well but I like the Lee for that big 'ole flat point. The 300 gr Lee does 1893 fps ave of 5 shots and the 290 gr NOE does 2094 fps the way I have it loaded from a 15" T/C barrel. It's a hoot! When that 300 gr boolit hits the cardboard target backer it sounds like sombody beating the dust out of a rug with a tennis racket!

Nice. Wendyj just got some real time stats from you with the contender in 460. One day I might make the jump to a s&w 460. For now a 454 is about as much as I want to tote or touch off. Impressive numbers on it though, wow.

The 460 in a revolver has enough blast to feel it in your face. The 454 does too but for me, personally, I find the blast more objectionable than the recoil. The 15" Encore does not have the blast that the wheel gun has but you will certainly know that you have launched a beast. It has WAY more than enough power for Alabama whitetails!
