Isnt that just about the nicest singleshot design you've ever seen. As the T Park boys would say "SEXY"

That's a great looking Boolit and a wonderful looking rifle! I hope you'll let us know how well it shoots.

I have an ultra dot match dot on my anaconda. I went through a few tasco PDP3’s in the 90’s on it that locked up from moment/recoil on it. My 44 rifles wear optics. Leupold 2x7 vx1 on my Ruger carbine and a 3x9 vx11 on my 77/44. My 329NG is the only one that gets shot with open sights. I do have a buckmark target with the same match dot on it. The 77/44 shoots sub MOA at 100 yards with two different cast Lyman devastator loads. That looks like one of the old school aim Points that they first manufactured and was available with 3x magnification if I remember correctly. Hope your alloy is as soft as butter if you plan to hunt with it. I’ve had poor to zero blood trails and 100 plus yards tracking with my hard 15.4bh HPs that never expanded and sailed right through a 2 deer in a row with double lung shots. I shot a third one a few seconds later that dropped instantly with a lung and heart shot. It kicked around for a minute or two and still managed to itself about 15/20 yards by kicking it rear legs around before expiring. I was shooting them at 1750 FPS out of my 77/44. It was like shooting them using an arrow with a field point accept for the year shot that literally looked like a grenade went off in it with almost first size holes in its ribs. I can’t believe that deer moved after the shot. I wasn’t impressed to say the least. I just don't believe there was enough energy transfer and to slow for any hydrostatic shock. I switched over to a 16/1 pure lead and pewter mix that has a BH of 7.5 and have them loaded at 1600 FPS. Just never had a chance to redeem myself last year with a test subject but I’m hoping a soft boolit will at make a large exit so I at least will have a blood trail to follow next time. Either that or I will put my 450BM to the test with about an additional 400 FPS of MV.

That is some nice wood on that rifle. My No.1 looks like it was stocked with wood from Home Depot

Beautiful , way more class than my old 45/70 no 3 with the stock squared and a recoil pad added.
The no1s are my favorite rifles and I don't even have one .

I don't have a #1 44mg. I do have a #3 44mg. I really haven't shot it very much. I gathered up 44mg, two 375wins, 45/70 since Ohio got limited rifle season. In 44mg I am shooting 240 JHP over 22.5gr H-2400. It will clover leaf at 60yds. The #3 will edge out my JM 1894 Marlin slightly.

my bullet are ww air cooled hoping it does not lead the barrel

I was not aware they made the no3 in 44mag fortunately I have not run across one or a 375 at a reasonable price or I would have to bring one home. I really like my no3 but they sure aren't as nice to to look at as the no1s.

I’m sure it was a decision from the bean counting department, but I really do wish Ruger had never discontinued the #3! The only one we ever had was a 45-70 that killed at both ends... but for me something like the pistol caliber chambering in the OP or a 22 Hornet or 223/5.56 would be ideal in that package.

If they were to reintroduce the #3 and a companion SA, in say, 327 Fed Mag (a #3 and a Single Seven) it would definitely be a best seller, IMHO. 8-)

I'd like a No. 3 is a light centerfire like .25-20 Win for a small game rifle

I looked long and hard to find two nice No. 3's, one in .30-40 Krag and one in .375 Win. I also finally found a 1978 No. 1-S in .45-70, which has the long throat.
