I think I have found a new Hog/Dog load. It is a Lee fprn 125 gr. sized to .358 with a 7.6 grain load of Hodgdens CFE-Pistol. This target was the best, and shot at 30 meters standing out of my .357 Ruger Blackhawk. Most averaged out to 1.5 to 2 inches.

No brag, just fact.

I'd like to hear how it does when it comes to killing things.

That should work just fine. Making a hole to let air in and blood out in the correct spot is always the most important factor in killing things.

Great shooting! What do you reckon the velocity is? One or two clicks to the left on that rear sight and on to the hunt.

I'm using the same Lee 125 rnfp with 6.0 CFEpistol in my S&W 14-2. I'm getting 900fps average and a skinny hair over an inch at 25 yards (12 shots). All I've used it on is squirrels, rabbits, a few woodchucks, and a good sized coon. All were real DRT except one chuck. Shot him out of a pear tree and he flopped around on a couple limbs on the way down to his final resting place. I do my target work off bags, when I hunt I use the closest tree or sit and use my knees.

According to the chronograph at the range it was traveling just a hair over 1300. The average of ten shots was 1329. After a trip to the Dr. tomorrow, I am going out to the farm. The orphanage needs meat, and I need to thin the dog population out some more. Will let you know how it goes.

I've wanted to try that boolit in my Ruger 77/357. It really likes the 124 TC, but the small meplate leaves something to be desired when it comes to varmints.

ACCPlease explain the second to the last sentence to me. Is it a Korean orphanage?

No, Catholic I think, but they have all kinds of kids there. It is also a half way house for kids taken from their parents due to home problems.

What kinda dogs are you feeding them? Since its a kids orphanage I'm guessing wiener dogs

I do have a few empty 357's and those boolits to try. I usually use it in 9mm or 38spl

Good on you for helping them out. Your post read like you were planning on getting them some dog meat- hence my confusion [emoji16]
