I decided to experiment with my recently acquired carbine to see if I could get a boolit that fed better than the Lee soupcans that I was shooting in it, and was still as accurate. About 1 or 2 in every 15 round clip would hang up but they were very accurate. The boolits I tried were round nosed, with a similar profile to fmj, but a little fatter nose. They were plain based, coated with Hi-Tec, and sized .310. I established the OAL by placing a boolit in a partially resized case and seating it fully in the chamber and measuring the OAL that resulted. I bought the boolits from Bayou Bullets. I was very pleased yesterday at the range. My gun loved then. They shot just as well as the soupcans and fed flawlessly. I don't know what velocity is, I shot them over 12.6gr H110, but the lack of gas check wasn't a problem. I can see me gettin' some mo' of deez!

Hi T-bird,
Which Lee "Soup Can" mould are you using? Have you tried the Lee C309-120-R RN mould? I reamed out the GC shank and use them as PB plinkers in my .30-06s and .30 Herrett.

Redleg, I have the one with the flat nose. Thank's Outpost. Does that boolit feed well in your gun(s)? It's so incredibly easy to just take an already cast one out of the box and these shoot sooo good!.....:)

Feeds great in my WW2 Inland.

Back when I had my .30 carbine.
I found that a 120 gr RN cast with Lino and harder lead .001 larger than the bore or Throat gave me the best accuracy without a GC.
But that was My rifle.
I used H110 almost exclusively but don't where my loading data is for that rifle.
