Having just purchased a Ruger SP-101 in .327 Federal on Halloween, I went looking for .32 H & R magnum brass. I knew .327 Federal brass had not come out yet for reloaders. What I found surprised me. Starline is the only company that makes .32 H & R magnum brass (at least according to Midway). The kicker is that everyone seems to make .32 S & W long brass. Is that because the .32 S & W long is used in Olympic competition? I thought .32 H & R mag. brass would be as common as dirt. Conversely, I thought .32 S & W long brass would be very hard to find. What a shock.

Can you please tell me what is the length of the 327 case. I have begun a project to convert a single six to,
first choice-327 federal
second choice - 32 mag
I dont know yet if the cylender is long enough.

I also would like to ream my 32 mag SP101 to 327 Fed(I think so)The Fed case is appox 1/8 in longer.I may just load my 32 Mag to 327 Fed velocity.I use Starline cases. They do last for ever in the mild 32 Mag using cast bullets

90 grainer
with 4 g Universal Clays :-D

Looks like the 327Fed is worse off than the 32 mag....Not surprised though..

According to the February 2008 issue of "Shooting Times" (page 28), the overall length of the case is 1.200. They list the overall length of the .32 H & R magnum at 1.075. I only have one .327 Federal case, which I would measure just for fun, but it is a fired case which came with the gun.

Hamilton Bowen seems keen on the new round, there might be some information on his website. My understanding is that this cartridge came out in January of this year. Let's see who kills it, Barack Obama or just shooter disinterest. I hope it will last.

Dont know the lenth but will tell you this, my .32 h&r is on the single-six platform, and a rcbs 98 swc crimped in the groove is almost exactly flush with the cylinder face.
