i'm inletting a sporter stock to fit a commercial husqvarna barreled action. the stock is for a 98 mauser and the magazine box is a 98 mauser military. the barreled action and the magazine box are inletted deep enough (the magazine box is over 1/16 below the wood line) the question that i have is this. the magazine box is not touching the bottom of the action when the 2 are screwed together. a little less than 1/16 between the two. can i stop here, or, should i continue inletting until the 2 (bbl. action and magazine box ) make contact??

There should be a slight gap between the top of the magazine box and the bottom of the action.
The top of the magazine box should not touch the bottom of the receiver.
There should be a 1/16" gap along the whole top of the box.
But increasing that gap will not hurt anything , but since you are inletting things , and not just trying to bolt your parts onto a Universal Pre finished " drop in Fit " stock, it is best that you do things correctly.

You want to keep the gap small enough so the edge of the follower can't catch on it.
