Saw something about this, apparently another benchrest/varmint wildcat from the golden era.

Looking at the description, it seems it was based on the .250 Savage case and looks to me an awful lot like the 6mm Creedmoor that is making such waves among precision shooters now? Funny how the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Anyone have experience with this cartridge?

Yup, a gun writer named John Barsness pointed out a few years ago that the Creedmoor case is identical in dimensions to an improved 250-3000. JB hangs around 24hourcampfire.com under the name Mule Deer.
As the owner of a 300 Savage, i suspect the Creedmoor case necks may be thicker than the Savage case necks.

Remington used to chamber its 40X target rifles in 6mm International and .30-338 magnum in addition to select standard cartridges.
