I use some for swaging and im paying about $1.00 per+ pound when I can find it on partial spools or old stock and always looking for more. Its also great to have because its pure lead and I use it for my BP stuff when im out of pure ingots if im in a pinch.

I posted to this thread yesterday. Don't know what happened to it. I have a spool of lead wire that is .250 in diameter. I listed it on the swapping and selling forum several months ago with no interest at all. I wanted to swap it for an equal weight of pure lead. I swage but only .38 and 45 cal. paper patch bullets.

Geez, Corbin gets $35 for 10 lbs ! and even with flat rate shipping that'll be $4.50 a lb.
Anybody extruding their own would probably have a market for it at half that. I've just started using a core mold for .224 (0.185 mold size) and can see why using the wire is attractive, though more expensive - for my use, 50 grains of lead into 70,000 would give me about 1400 cores for 60 grain bullets - over $0.03 each compared to zero and my time.
I also tried to trade lead wire straight across for pure lead ingots and got no response. Decided to just melt some of it down and mix with tin 20-1 for Hollow Points !
