I'm using the 228-R1 but I do not like having to seat them as deep as I do to pass the plunk test. 1.220 for my stock Springfield 1911A1. It is giving me feed problems from a full mag. Wilson 8 shot loaded with 7. Once in battery, I have no problems. It eats regular ball without a problem. It also likes the Lee 452-200-SWC's.
For $18.49 I'm think about trying the TL bullet. Has anyone had luck with them?

The 1R seating is a common "problem". I have a Lee 230 T/L mold and it works fine, nothing outstanding or bad with the mold, it drops good bullets. I have only used a few of the Lee 230s 2R and I used 45-45-1 dip lubing and I tried some Speed Green pan lubed. No problems, no leading, shoots as good or gooder than I can. RIA 1911 and a Ruger P90...

That Lee TL 230 grain boolit runs great in my 1911 and other 45ACP pistols. I get good accuracy as well.
I can recommend it no problem.

Thanks everyone. I just ordered the 230-R2. For the price, it's worth trying. I'll be powder coating them.

I finally got some range time in today. I ran a box of the R2's today without a hiccup. 1.26oal. Now to get busy casting.

Save that R-1 for a .45 colt.
