Pulling a 17.9 hardness from my current batch of lead.
Cast up some 50 beo with the lee 440 mold. C501-440-rf
Going to gas check em
Am i in a good hardness range to consider loading for hunting?
Still havnt nailed down my powder choices so id be appreciative of any tips suggestions dos and donts there as well.
Loading for a bca 50 beo upper 1:20 twist 16" bbl
Be gentle, im new lol...

...and consider 50 calibers as being"pre-expanded"

thanks :) some good stuff in that thread....that said, still nothing on hardness....is my brinell ok? too soft? too hard? again, im dropping em at 17.9 with my current mix...

That post showed results of Lyman#2/BN:15

BN-18 is "a bit" hard[er], but try it
