Thanks! I'm slowly learning a little about revolver tuning. Seems like parts that would bend this easily would bend back out of alignment as soon as you extracted a cylinder of slightly sticky cases. Is this the case?

Aligning looks easy on TV.

I'm having a hard time with a 66, there may be something else I haven't figured out.

Cylinder is hard to open in a couple of positions,the crane was bent and I find it hard to get the alignment tool just right,even though it looks centered it drags.

Coat the alignment tool end that goes into the frame with dykem layout fluid or even just a sharpie marker to see where the it is rubbing inside of the frame. Also check the ejector rod to see if it is bent.

Thank you Moleman,I got it figured out. Makes a huge difference!

It really doesn't take much drag at all to affect the function. Repairing takes some common sense and a repairman's touch, a reasonable feel to adjust by hand.

My 66 has never been this good.

Yes, along with a new cylinder stop, hand, crane and cylinder bearings. When that's all done the barrel will get set back. It would be done by now but the 67 year old lathe I want to use had an original bearing lock up in the gearbox so I've been rebuilding the gearbox instead. Made new 16 tooth compound gears, new shafts, added some bushings in worn out holes and am waiting on the last 4 bearings to show up so it can be put back together.
