My Square Deal is leaving rings on the nose of my cast and coated .45ACP round nose bullets. Do you think filling it with hot melt glue and trimming flat then drilling the vent will help, or should I look for something more permanent?

How soft is your lead?

There is a round nose seating die that should eliminate or reduce the problem. I forget if the die is reversible, might just need to turn it around.

Thank you. I just found it on the Dillon site. Sometimes the easy crap goes over my head.

Glad you found the round nose die.

FWIW, I used JB Weld on a Hornady seater stem for my 30 Carbine short jacket bullets. Not sure hot glue would be strong enough. Think I put Vaseline on the bullet to mold the JB Weld.

Yes, I am dense at times. I just found a round nose punch in my parts box I never new I had. I've loaded thousands of FMJ with the SWC punch and never noticed anything. Thanks.

Glad it was an easy and free fix.
