What loads do you use in your 95 CB? I've tried a Lyman 293 gr and Lee 340 gr with 5744 and I'm not really satisfied I would really like to get the Lyman going. What a good load and bullet size for this gun?

I've been shooting the RCBS 45-300FN in my 1895 over 40.0 grains of IMR 4198. It shoots as good as I can see with my receiver sights (1 3/8"-2") at 100yds, and also shoots to the same point of impact as the same load with the Sierra, or Hornady 300HP. It is a reasonably mild load for the 1895 and is probably around 1700 fps, or so, but I think that is plenty for my needs.

I shoot both of the Ranch Dog molds and the Lyman 330 grain HP in my 1895CB with pretty decent results using XMP5744 and SR4759 .

With the RD 460-425GC try 32 grains of XMP5744 .

With the RD 460-350GC try 34 grains of XMP5744 .

With the Lyman 330 grain HP try 31.5 grains of SR4759 .

I prime with CCI200's in all 3 loads .

I've also used all three loads to kill deer with excellent results .

All my bullets are straight WW's , lubed with Thompson's Blue Angel and sized at .459" .
