My brother has a Rossi 92 that he would like to put a reflex sight on.
Anybody have suggestions on the best way to do this?

Not a Rossi 92, but I mounted a Burris Fastfire 3 on a Winchester M94AE using just the rear part of a Weaver 2pc base. It works really well. Since the Rossi ejects straight up, you may want to go with a barrel mounted base. I've seen them before, but don't recall the maker.

I was thinking barrel mounted. The two screws that hold the back sight on are very close together but should be able to make or buy something to fit there.
If it was mine there would be no issue. Not sure how but I would make something that would work. He is more into buying something that was designed for the role.

I found the one I saw, it's Dr Pearson's.

Turnbull makes a dandy mount, I'm too cheap to buy one but I'll probably spend twice as much in time in the shop building one. Saw these on his table at Tulsa this year and immediately wanted one.

So of them have been drilled for a scope base.......Under rear sight , So you have to remove rear sight and of you see d/tap holes you are good

Noe sells the scope mount

Since a reflex sight has infinite eye relief, the easiest way I know of would be to mount a short Weaver-type base over the rear sight dovetail with an adaptor that locks the base into the barrel's female dovetail.

XS Sights uses a similar setup to anchor the forward end of their LeverScout mount to a barrel's rear sight dovetail; Williams Gun Sight Co uses a smaller one to adapt front sight ramps and their rear iron sights to a barrel dovetail.

I've used one of the two Weaver-type bases, meant for rifles requiring two bases to mount a scope, to mount a reflex sight to a rear sight barrel dovetail.

They easily hold a lightweight sight, either an iron sight or a small reflex sight.

Rossi also has an optional barrel mount rail that uses the drilled and tapped holes under the existing sight. That's what's on mine. Can mount a reflex, red dot or a conventional LER scout scope.

That's a sweet set up there, and the price is not that bad!

NOE, the mold people, make a picatinny rail just for Rossi's. http://noebulletmolds.com/NV/index.php?cPath=103
