What is a simpler cleaner you all are using on getting the primer residue out. The barrel is easier to clean with many patches and a brush, but the carbon from the 209 primers doesn't seem to budge with much. It has built up from a few times shooting and I let it go. So I figure it will affect shooting and I am trying to find something better.

So I tried regular cleaners and nothing worked. I remembered fro Spray Nine in the garage and soaking it in that an hour takes some but not all. Are their any simple cleaners to dissolve this stuff?

I like the inline and having scope for longer shots, but cleaning my hawken makes life so much easier.

That primer residue you're referring to isn't all primer residue. The powder is burning back into the breech plug and leaving most of it. Here's a good read on the subject https://www.blackhorn209.com/specs/breech-plug-cleaning/
Another good option for the solvent to use is https://www.traditionsfirearms.com/product/blackout-209-breech-plug-small-parts-cleaner

To clean the flash channel, not the tiny hole, I just turn a drill bit by hand. I think mine is an 1/8". The powder chamber I just stuff a damp patch in and turn it by hand. This is all it takes to clean mine. For blackpowder I use water. For substitutes I use Hoppe's #9. I mostly shoot blackpowder, but do shoot Blackhorn 209 from time to time.

I have a thompson hawken and after I fire about 8 209 primers in it I cant get them out without a lot of force...I just use an ear swab with bore cleaner on it..that does the trick
