I pic up 1000's of .223/5.56 cases at various ranges. some ranges I've been at dont care if i just scoop them out of their barrels of brass. Since the scrap prices have gone drasticly, they done care much if you collect the brass.
Anyway, I get 100's of FC (federal) .223 brass with crimped primers that are really short. I use some for 300 BLK but id rather use LC for 300 blk
Do any of you gentlemen use .223 cases for some projectiles.?? Could I just chop off the case head and the case mouth and have what it amounts to is a brass tube?

Depending on hw much work you want to put into it, they could be utilized for any projectile from 30- 38 caliber. Some swagers are even using the scrap from cutting to .300 BO, and making bullets out of the neck shoulder portion.

Didn't realize I made a pun. Was asking for more info on the 357 bullets.

BTSniper had a thread about it, I seem to recall him updating it when he lost all his pictures some time back. Don’t recall if he was making them from the tops or bottoms.

Use the bottoms of the 223/5.56

9 mm brass is close to same head diameter and just as easy to find, doesn't need to be cut. Makes nice 357 & 40 cal. bullets. Except for 308, all mine are for pistol so far and do everything I want them to. But if you want to cut both ends off and make a tube, I would imagine the only thing stopping you is YOU ! If you try it out, keep us in the loop with your venture.
