Ruger Flattop today,I hadn't bought a new gun for about 2 years now, figured it was high tme I did!
This was a .357,I have an Accusport Bisley .45,like it really well.It was either a .22 rifle of some kind,a .30/06 or not anything.
Had thought on a 27-2 S&W,but the #358429 has to be seated different to work in that model,so I figured why not a hell-for-stout Ruger single action?:drinks:

Is it one of the 50th Anniversary models? Or an older 3 screw?

I had one and traded it recently. Might have been a mistake but I found a #1 I couldn't live without.
Mine shot well with a 358429 cast hard (heat treated wheelweights) and 14 grn of 2400.
I had to trim cases a little to get them to fit in the cylinder. The load chronied right on 1200 fps.
That was the only .357 load I ever played with.
I tried the same bullet (not heat treated) on top of 5 grains of Universal in .38 cases but had no luck. I'd have probably been better off with either faster powder or thicker (better) cases with no cannelure.
They're a dandy little pistol.
I wanted to convert it to .44 Special or .45 Colt but considering the conversion cost, I'll eventually just live with the fixed sights on a new model Vaquero.

I bought one when they first came out and really like it. The narrow grip frame is a big plus for me as I had an old model Vaquero and the grip was just too fat to get used to.
