Next size down?

Couldn't you use the next size down to PP up to your cal? .266 up to .277, .308 up to .311, .287 up to .308? .002x3 wraps = .012

It is a question of bore riding properties.
My .312/185R Lee Mold is too tight for my target .30s. I use the mold for my .303, sized to .308.
I had considered that myself.
