Freinds, I have an old army navy with the old black powder bore and bored threw cylinder.
I don't wish to buy a mold for this as I am not going to shoot it alot.
Who sells the proper healed bullets for loading this cartridge?
Was going to load them in 38 sp cases with a light charge.

I have never shot or owned a 38LC, but according to my book, the projectile diameter is 0.357, or 0.358, which should mean that you can use a 38 Special or 357 bullet. If so, I have always had very good service form this guy and buy all my cast bullets from him. http://gardnerscache.com/cast_pistol_bullets.html

This is one of the older ones that take a healed bullet. Dia ahead of the case 375 or so.
Cylinder is bored straight threw.
I do have a later version in 38special.

If full-length .38 Special cases will chamber without trimming, just load 148-grain soft swaged HBWC bullets flush-seated with 2.5-2.7 grains of Bullseye, TiteGroup, 700X or Red Dot.

A good friend had one in 38 Long Colt and with it 150+ once fired cases .
We used a Speer swaged 148 gr. HBWC and 2.7 grains Bullseye . We didn't seat the bullet flush but rater lightly crimped at the upper lube groove/cannelure (?) (about 1/4 inch or 5/16th inch protrusion).
The hollow base expands to fill the throats and bore so accuracy was quite good .
Much easier to obtain and load these boolits than the heeled boolits .
I'm sure any make of soft HBWC can be used ... I haven't bought any commercial HBWC's in decades so just use whatever you can get .

Gad Custom Cartridges advertised them for sale. I ordered some 41 Colt Heeled Boolits from them and they were reasonably priced and well cast. But I have used Hollow-based Wadcutters when loading 38 LC cartridges with perfect satisfaction.
