Can anyone tell me their experiences with this bullet or any fat metplate bullet at long distances?? I'm curious how quickly it loses steam and if it becomes inaccurate at any situation.

If you push this bullet hard, what powder are you using ?

Big questions there, what range are you looking for? Hunting? Target? I can get out to 200 yards but the velocity drops off too much after that. 2000 fps at the mzl w/ 4895 out of my 30-30 and it drops about 6 inches at 200 yards. You could push it faster out of a 308 or 06 but you would have to harden it up to linotype and you start getting into an alloy that is too brittle to withstand a bone hit. If you want to hunt out past 200 go with a 45-70 and a 500 gr boolit they dropped buffalo at distance.

For my area, 200 would be the longest distance.
