My nephew decided he had to buy a 1911 for his 21st birthday. I offered to teach him to cast and reload. Here are his first forty. Well, almost! He spilled the powder from one so it is really his first thirty-nine!

Now that is a great legacy to pass on. 21, 45acp and your first casting/reloading session is with Brass Magnet. How cool is that!!!!! Hey Ron, when are you going to open your boolit mold museum?

Exceptional. Isn't it fantastic to learn from the best? Your rounds look fantastic. You have done well plus. Unload them at the range and reload them then repeat. Ask lots of questions even if they seem inconsequential. GREAT Job.

Good job! I can't even remember back when I was 21  I'm pretty sure I was doing anything productive like casting and loading bullets...

Thanks, Dinny

Good for you fore passing it on. Reloading depending on who you talk to is starting to decline. Many people don't want to be bothered.

That's a fine nephew that is off to a good start! I also bought my first firearm at 21, a Colt 1911 in Stillwater Ok, 1980. I still have the first box of ammo I cast and loaded in 1982. About 10 years later I brandished that .45 to save an old man's life the was being beaten on the roadside by two hippies with a baseball bat that had pulled him through his car window and out on the pavement. The old man had his 3 year old grand baby on the front seat.
